NYT: Ginsberg Supports Foreign Law Influence in US Courts

This should come as no surprise to those that know how far off base Justice Ginsberg is with the constitution and the American public.
In wide-ranging remarks here, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended the use of foreign law by American judges...

“I frankly don’t understand all the brouhaha lately from Congress and even from some of my colleagues about referring to foreign law,” Justice Ginsburg said in her comments on Friday.

The court’s more conservative members — Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justices Samuel A. Alito Jr., Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas — oppose the citation of foreign law in constitutional cases.

“If we’re relying on a decision from a German judge about what our Constitution means, no president accountable to the people appointed that judge and no Senate accountable to the people confirmed that judge,” Chief Justice Roberts said at his confirmation hearing. “And yet he’s playing a role in shaping the law that binds the people in this country.” READMORE>>>
This is just one of the reasons why the President you elect is of the utmost importance and a strong reason why every other country's fight for freedom is as important as our own.

If we have revolutionary Supreme Court Justices that believe that the courts in the U.K. (or Saudia Arabia for that matter) can set precedence here in America we should be very scared.

After all, the American public didn't elect the Judges in Great Britain or Germany or any other country, so why should the decisions made in that country be able to influence the laws in America?

Would you like to see the U.S. to go the way of Cuba; the U.K.; or "The People's" Republic of China?

I mean this in the most respectful way, but I hope when Ginsberg dies she gets replaced with an American that loves and values this country and the ideals which make it great and will only interpret laws based on the United States Constitution.

Cancer in the High Court

Apparently, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and has undergone treatment.

Will this cause a vacancy on the court (and as a result a Presidential appointment)?

God, I hope not. As much as I dislike Ginsberg's judgement, I feel she's still probably more conservative than who Obama might nominate.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had surgery Thursday after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the court said.

Pancreatic cancer is often deadly, although the court said doctors apparently found Ginsburg's cancer at an early stage.

Ginsburg, 75, had the surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She will remain in the hospital for seven to 10 days, said her surgeon, Dr. Murray Brennan, according to a release issued by the court. The hospital had no comment on Ginsburg. READ MORE>>
