Forbes: "U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms"

Matt Drudge just reposted an old commentary from Forbe's on the UN's proposed "Small Arms Treaty."  The treaty that I thought was more of a boy that cried wolf story than anything else (in fact if you google you can find references to the Small Arms Treaty going a while) may be more of a threat that we previously thought.
Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.

What, exactly, does the intended agreement entail?
While the terms have yet to be made public, if passed by the U.N. and ratified by our Senate, it will almost certainly force the U.S. to:
  1. Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.
  2. Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course).
  3. Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons (any that have magazines even though they still operate in the same one trigger pull – one single “bang” manner as revolvers, a simple fact the ant-gun media never seem to grasp).
  4. Create an international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.
  5. In short, overriding our national sovereignty, and in the process, providing license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights. READ MORE>>>
Apparently, if passed by the UN, it will go to the Senate to be ratified.  Since the Senate has a Democratic Anti-Gun majority, we can be assured that this would pass.  The anti-gunners can't pass gun control laws now because of the pro-gun majority in the House, courts have ruled that individuals have a right to own and carry firearms, so now, they're only hope to restrict our rights is through backdoor treaty's like this one. (I'd wager that even if the UN passes this treaty many Senators wouldn't vote for it because it would amount to political suicide.)

Worse yet, George Soros has thrown his support behind the proposed UN treaty.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced that the Obama administration is working with the UN to lean on Congress to consent to the ATT.

Clinton has pushed the treaty as an “opportunity to promote the same high standards for the entire international community that the United States and other responsible arms exporters already have in place to ensure that weaponry is transferred for legitimate purposes.” READ MORE>>>>
This stuff just pisses me off.

First of all, who are we to tell other nations which policies; laws; and "standards" they should enact in their own country.  We would be rioting in the street if, lets say, Saudi Arabia told us that we should have our women adopt Muslim dress standards or that we should ban alcohol because they thought it best for us.  In fact, this is exactly what this whole controversy is about.  Yes, it's about gun ownership and freedom, but its more importantly about our nation's sovereignty.  After all, why couldn't the UN pass a treaty that gets adopted by 51 airhead (and completely anti-freedom) Senators that says that the public practice of evangelizing or proselytizing should be illegal or even just regulated.

You have to love the double standard we hold regarding this notion

Few people understand and appreciate the truly American notion of non-interventionism.

DHS Preparing for Civil Unrest?

I never got a chance to finish analyzing all of this, but I'll deposit what I have right here for posterity sake.

Granted this information comes from a site advocating investing in penny stocks.... http://www.beaconequity.com/we-are-preparing-for-massive-civil-war-says-dhs-informant-2012-05-03/

The signs appear to be on the horizon that the government is arranging things to prepare for massive civil unrest (i.e. maybe Greece like riots because of America's over burdened liabilities).

Regardless though, it looks like there's at least some truth to it.

Just under 10,000 ordered by the U.S. & Judging The paint scheme on it, it is not going overseas
Put this email in the same file with the order of six bazillion hollow points rounds, the FEMA determent camps, the prisoner rail cars, and the 1 million body bags and the 1 million plastic coffins. Nothing strange going on here, huh. NOTHING AT ALL! (http://theintelhub.com/2012/04/26/unusual-transport-vehicle-causing-some-concern/)

Congress passing the Military Commission Act, trying to pass the NDAA,  PIPA/SOPA, (edited to add: The President just passing this Executive Order to have control over communications for National Security purposes) and even the proposed Small Arms Treaty from the UN.
Fair Warning or Fearmongering? What do YOU think?
. . . Congress authorizes 30,000 drones to fly and monitor America. Formerly the top General in Afghanistan, David Petraeus, is now the head of the CIA. WIRED, a zine that reports on high tech advancements, covered a summit where Director Petraeus spoke of the CIA's ability to monitor our daily lives while in our homes. . .  READ ALL ABOUT IT>>>

POTUS Dances Around "Trillion"

The President craftily danced around the size of our current debt in his most recent address. In his some 2,600+ word address the President only mentioned "trillion" three times.  Two were references where he was pointing the blame at the other party and one was one which he proposed increasing taxes and cutting some waste to trim a meager 4 trillion. (I think Obama should've watched this recipe first).

. . . instead of using it to pay off our debt, the money was spent on trillions of dollars in new tax cuts, while two wars and an expensive prescription drug program were simply added to our nation’s credit card. . . the deficit was on track to top $1 trillion the year I took office. . . .

. . .  It would reduce the deficit by around $4 trillion and put us on a path to pay down our debt. . .
First, of all the speech has so much to critique.

Hopefully, later tomorrow I'll have time to go through and analyze it.  But, notice in all of his 2,600+ words President Obama only mentioned TRILLION three times.  There were four references to the "wealthiest" Americans and corporations and their necessity to bear the burden of the United States failed fiscal policy.

This is obviously intentional.  You don't want Americans to actually ask how much one Trillion dollars is. If Americans understood how much ONE trillion dollars actually is (and I'm not sure I can fully grasp it other than to say I've never seen a trillion of anything). To give you an idea of how big ONE trillion is it's approximately the number of grains of sand that 89 standard dump trucks can hold, depending on whether it's coarse; fine; or medium grit sand.

Call your Congressmen and tell them NO on increasing the debt limit.  Tighten the belt first and then cut spending.

I'll post later on the rest of the speech.

A Visualization of Our Debt

As our congressmen and president weigh raising the debt limit one crafty individual demonstrates the horrific magnitude of our debt.

Obama Lied About No More DEA Raids on MMJ?

So you probably didn't hear about this but last week DEA Agents raided a lab which does testing of medical marijuana strains in order to provide intelligent dosing guidelines for medical patients.
The raid at Full Spectrum Laboratories, just north of downtown Denver, occurred Wednesday, said Betty Aldworth, the lab's outreach director. She said agents took dozens of medical-marijuana samples — either small pieces of plants or test tubes of "extraction fluid" — but left the lab's equipment and did not arrest anyone....

The lab, which opened in November, conducts tests on different marijuana strains to determine their potency and help dispensaries provide dosing guidelines for patients.
At least one source speculates that the DEA raid of Full Spectrum Laboratories had nothing to do with the distribution of medical marijuana but rather the flow of information regarding marijuana.

Last year, Attorney General Eric Holder promised to stop DEA raids on medical marijuana dispensaries and organizations which are in compliance with state laws regarding medical marijuana.

With more than 80% of Americans nationwide supporting medical marijuana and nearly half of all Americans supporting the decriminalization/legalization of marijuana it appears that the Obama administration is in the minority.

So is this most recent DEA raid just another promise broken? I think so.

Don't worry, some day we'll have a President that you can trust.

It's going to be a long 1,010 days until the next election.

Putin Warns U.S. to Back Off from Socialism

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin warned the U.S. to stay away from the path of socialism and 'state control' today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
...the US should take a lesson from the pages of Russian history and not exercise “excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state’s omnipotence”.

“In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute,” Putin said... “In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.”

... Putin said, “Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors, and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.”

...Putin also echoed the words of conservative maverick Ron Paul when he said, “we must assess the real situation and write off all hopeless debts and ‘bad’ assets. True, this will be an extremely painful and unpleasant process. Far from everyone can accept such measures, fearing for their capitalization, bonuses, or reputation. However, we would ‘conserve’ and prolong the crisis, unless we clean up our balance sheets.”
Hell has frozen over...

...and those in Washington are much more foolish than you or I (that much is obvious when the Russian Prime Minister has to warn us of this).
