RIP John Murtha

I just heard today that Rep. John Murtha from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania passed away.
Pennsylvania Democratic Rep. John Murtha, the first veteran of the Vietnam war to enter Congress and one of the House's most powerful lawmakers, died Monday afternoon at Virginia Hospital Center after complications from gallbladder surgery. Murtha was 77. READ MORE>>
It's a shame that he had to die in order for his seat to open up, but sadly I think his death was the only way his seat would've opened up.

I won't mince words on Murtha.  I certainly didn't like him as a congressman and I thought his behavior (especially in his later years of his long career as a politician) was utterly shameful, so let's have some perspective on this man.




All in all, this is kind of a mixed bag.  First Senator Kennedy passed away and now Rep. Murtha. Let's put someone in his seat that strongly believes in liberty and the American ideals that make this nation so great.
